Womens Hour
This project explores the need for safer urban environments for women after dark, inspired by discussions around women’s safety on platforms like Women’s Hour. The concept proposes a dedicated, visible, and accessible space within the city where women can feel secure during nights out.

Mission
The idea is to create a “Safe Haven” a hybrid social and support hub open during late hours. It functions as a meeting point where women can wait for taxis, reconnect with friends, charge their phones, or simply take a break from nightlife environments. The space also offers access to trained staff who can provide assistance if someone feels unsafe, vulnerable, or needs help getting home.
Vision
More than just a safety point, the design encourages a sense of community. It’s a place where women can gather without pressure, whether that’s to sit, talk, or regroup, reducing isolation and risk. The project challenges the idea that safety solutions should restrict women’s freedom, instead offering an empowering alternative that supports independence while addressing real concerns.
By placing these hubs in key nightlife areas, the project aims to reduce incidents of harassment and harm, while reshaping the city into a space that actively protects and prioritises women at night.
